Green Corridor Overview The Green Corridor tour focuses on the rich resources of one particular city or a select visit incorporating more than one municipality and several topics from below. Explore San Francisco’s East Bay – known as “The Green Corridor” – home of sustainable/green economy and alternative energy movement for decades. In 2007, the mayors of Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond and Emeryville joined forces with UC Berkeley Chancellor Birgeneau and Lawrence Berkeley Lab Director Steven Chu (now US Secretary of Energy) and announced a collaborative effort to turn SF Bay’s east shore into the engine for the 21st-century. |

Now formally established as one of the world’s leading centers of environmental innovation, alternative energy research and green business, the East Bay is poised to be the 'Silicon Valley' equivalent for the green economy. Check out the Green Corridor! |
